You know when you find something really inspiring on the internet, and you think
“Gosh, I just have to do that.” - ??
I found a page (click here) that lists the top 10 cult movies of all time. And I bookmarked it because, I thought, here was an opportunity to ‘culture’ myself, y’know?
Anyhow, I just watched the #1 spot, “Office Space” (about 12 years after it was released… fail). And I really enjoyed it! It doesn’t fit into any of the stereotypes that most films seem to slot into these days (eg. action/fantasy/comedy/romcom).
Don’t get me wrong, it still is funny, just not in that really common slapstick sorta oh-look-its-ben-stiller-yet-again-in-another-identical-film (even though it has Jennifer Aniston in it).
So wait… it’s like a comedy… that’s actually funny? Mind. Blown.
Definitely something to check out, in case anybody out there is stuck for film inspiration. And now I’m going to check out the #2 spot… (is it dreadful that I’ve never seen Donnie Darko?).
